American Cancer Society Relay For Life, June 15, 2007.
Description of Service:
Relay For LIfe is the American Cancer Society's Signature Fund-Raising Event and Avenue for Cancer Prevention and Detection information to the community.
It is also a way to celebrate with cancer survivors and unite and honor all those touched by cancer.
Other Information:
The 8th annual 24 hour event will take place June 18, and June 19, 2004 at Burbank Park on Onota Lake in Pittfield, MA. Community members form teams, most of which camp out during the 24 hour event. Teams commit to having at least one member walking the the Scenic, lakeside path during the event. Donations are solicited by team members or through team fund-raisers. Lumanaria may also be purchased to honor or remember someone who has or is battling cancer. There is a luminaria ceremony at dusk. A survivor's celebration lap is the opening ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday evening. All are welcome. Many other activites, plus food, and music are planned.
