WHAT: A Day in the Life of a Berkshire County Judge with the Honorable Joan McMenemy
The Hon. Joan McMenemy is the First Justice of the Berkshire Juvenile Court. She hears cases involving juvenile delinquency (from minor misdemeanors to serious felonies) and all manner of child welfare cases. She oversees matters ranging from arraignments, custody hearings, motions, and trials. While the vast majority of cases she hears are confidential, she can speak broadly to some of the unique strengths and challenges of the Berkshire County court system. This event will be presented in the J. Peter ScolforoGallery at the Lee Library.
