Berkshire Art Center Hosts Bilingual Artist Talk with Katunemo Art & Healing Collective
Thursday, April 3rd | 6:00 PM
141 North Street, Pittsfield, MA
Pittsfield, MA —(April 3, 2025)— Berkshire Art Center (BAC) is thrilled to present its first-ever bilingual Artist Talk, featuring the talented artists of Katunemo Art & Healing collective. This exciting event will take place amidst the Legacy exhibition, currently on display in BAC's window galleries on North Street. Through photography and interviews, these artists have connected deeply with women from the immigrant community, exploring themes of heritage, identity, and resilience.
Katunemo artists—singer/songwriter Clara Guatta, painter and environmental science student Shelsy Rodríguez, audiovisual artist Melchor David, and photographer and painter Maru Dominguez—will share how being part of this collective has influenced their artistic journeys and shaped their creative expression.
In keeping with BAC’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion, Language Justice Solutions will provide simultaneous interpretation, allowing attendees to fully engage in the conversation in the language they feel most comfortable with, whether Spanish or English.
We strongly encourage attendees to register in advance for this affordable event—just $5 and free for active BAC members; walk-ins will be welcome as space allows.
“We are so excited to bring together this incredible group of artists and to use interpretation technology to foster a truly inclusive and engaging discussion,” said Kristin Grippo, Community Engagement Director. “This event is a milestone for us in expanding our programming to better serve and celebrate our diverse community.”
